To avoid disrupting bananas’ ripening cycle, the fruit is cut while green and sent by refrigerated ship. They are checked carefully at the plantation and throughout their journey and are still green when they arrive in Europe, where they are ripened. When they reach optimum maturity, they are sold under the “SCB” and “Bouba” labels.

Given the impeccable quality and monitoring of these bananas, some supermarkets now sell them under their own brand name.
